A Brief History of the PFFL
The league originated in 1992 with
one conference of 14 teams. For the first three years the league
was total points only utilizing a very simple
scoring system. The transition to head to head competition began in 1995. That
year the league expanded to two conferences, incorporated a head to head
schedule, and the top prize was divided equally between the total point winner
and the head to head winner -- * but total points still determined the league
champion. In 1996 the league switched its focus to head to head play and began
using a championship game to crown the official league champion. The
league moved online in 2002 taking us to where we are today. In the 17 years of
the PFFL there still hasn't been a repeat champion!
